Gatti Routh Architects were commissioned by Tate to lead the exhibition design for 'Lee Miller' — a major exhibition celebrating the trailblazing surrealist photographer at Tate Britain.
The North East Quadrant galleries, designed by Richard Llewellyn-Davies and opened in 1979, were re-imagined through a sustainability-led approach, prioritising reuse and recycling by reconfiguring as much of the previous exhibition’s physical infrastructure as possible.

An appropriate scale for the work was created through a playful use of colour and tone, resetting the spatial experience and guiding visitors via a new horizontal datum.

The exhibition opened in September 2025.
